Bob 'Showtime' Spryn grew up in Webster, NY, located in Western NY. He began playing saxophone at age 9 as well as singing in school choirs. Now 21, Bob has been playing sax for 12 years, studying privately for most of those years and enjoying every minute of it. Along the way he has earned top music awards for both classical and jazz playing during most of his years in Webster High School's nationally recognized music programs. Among these awards were 'Best Jazz Musician,' 'Best All Around Choir Member,' and 'Best Musician Overall,' all awarded his Senior year out of a class of 540 students. Bob also played in many musicals, studied music theory, wrote 'pit' music for a show choir band, composed several jazz and classical pieces, played and sang in all-county music groups, played in several audition based 'select' bands at the Eastman School of Music, and was section leader in the Webster Marching Band for 3 years, which ranked within the top 10 in the nation 2 years out of his 5 as a member.

Bob almost attended Berklee College of Music, but decided he'd
rather attend college at SUNY Fredonia for Multimedia, and he would
shape his music career on his own. In college he played a few gigs
here and there with a local college band, but it didn't quite
reflect his musical tastes. During his last semester senior year Bob
became friends with Paul, but was not aware he had a band until
several months later when he overheard a conversation. Bob
approached Paul about playing sax in the band, which to both of
their surprise had just come up with the band 2 days beforehand.

The newly reformed band, consisting of Paul, Joe, Bone, and new lead
guitarist Pete, welcomed Bob to a jam session. Each member was
amazed at how great their sound melted together and were immediately
convinced the 5th Street Band was going places. Soon thereafter
everyone was committed to the band permanently and the 5th Street
Band began ripping out some exciting originals with a sound never
before heard on the music scene.

Bob:"I can't wait for more and more people to hear us, because I
know they are going to love it."
