Band Joe Paul Pete Bob Bone

Paul McLaughlin

Paul McLaughlin, a Western New York native, started playing acoustic guitar in the spring of his freshman year in HighSchool. He began to take lessons, but only for a few months. After this he began to teach himself. Not long after, he got an offer to play in a band with two of the current members of the 5th Street Band, Joe and Mike(Bone) in the band The Brother McCreedie.

Since this band needed a bass player, Paul decided that he would fill in. Quickly after picking up the bass he enjoyed it thoroughly and discovered a new talent. He decided to make the bass his main instrument. Over his four years of playing he has been greatly influenced by many great bass players, including Victor Wooten and Stephan Lessard. With these influences, he has become a solid bass player with his own unique style.

Today, after 5 years of playing bass, he is part of The 5th Street Band. The band consists of two of his former band members, and two new members, which makes for a fresh new sound that can be enjoyed by anyone.
Since he had never learned, Paul is currently teaching himself how to read music, and he will then move on to learn more theory in order to increase his skill and continue to make all of the 5th Street Band music as good as it possibly can be.
